Diversity, equity and inclusion policy

Our mission

We are focused on creating a workplace environment where all employees feel valued, regardless of background, identity or experiences.  Our aim is to foster diversity, combat discrimination and outline our plans for developing an inclusive culture.

Scope

We are committed to workforce diversity, creating equity across our total operating business, and developing and advancing a culture of inclusion.  The policy includes all aspects of employment, including hiring, promotion, compensation and training and development.

Our Key Principles:

  1. Diversity

    • We value and respect the unique perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds of our employees.

    • We strive to build a workforce that reflects the diverse communities we serve.

  1. Equity:

    • We are committed to providing equal opportunities for all employees.

    • We will identify and eliminate barriers that may prevent the full participation of any individual or group.

  1. Inclusion:

    • We foster an inclusive culture where everyone feels a sense of belonging.

    • We encourage open dialogue and collaboration, ensuring that all voices are heard and respected.

Our Business Commitments

adm’s family is naturally diverse. And we carefully nurture our culture to ensure that all people, regardless of their background, identity, or circumstances, feel valued, accepted, and supported to succeed. We are part of the United Nations Global Compact: Target Gender Equality and, by 2025, we’ll ensure that 40% of our leadership team are female – this includes the global executive and regional groups.

We extend this focus to our partners too. We proudly promote DEI programs in our supply chain, committing 20% of our procurement spend to smaller companies or those owned by underrepresented groups, which include:

  • Women-owned suppliers – self-declared and/or third-party certified.

  • Suppliers who are working in vulnerable communities – we currently have projects that support fair sourcing businesses, poverty alleviation, and disabled workers.

  • Minority-owned businesses, historically under-utilized business suppliers, and registered small businesses in North America which are certified by third parties.

We regularly survey our partners to identify their needs and support emerging programs that advance our collective DEI efforts.

Implementation

  1. Recruitment and Hiring
    • We will implement fair and unbiased recruitment practices to attract a diverse pool of candidates.
    • We will provide training to hiring managers on inclusive hiring practices.
  2. Training and Development
    • We will offer ongoing DEI training and development opportunities for all employees.
    • We will support career advancement for underrepresented groups through mentorship and development programs.
  3. Workplace Culture
    • We will promote a culture of respect, inclusion, and collaboration.
    • We will celebrate diversity through events, initiatives, and employee resource groups.
  4. Accountability
    • We will regularly assess our DEI efforts and progress.
    • We will hold leaders accountable for fostering an inclusive environment and achieving DEI goals.

Reporting and Resolution

We encourage employees to report any concerns related to DEI. All reports will be taken seriously and addressed promptly. Retaliation against individuals who raise concerns will not be tolerated.

Conclusion

Our commitment to DEI is a continuous journey. We will strive to create a workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute to our success.
